MeBattery conquers the 75th ISE Annual Meeting in Montreal
On 18-23 August 2024, MeBattery set out to join the 75th Annual Meeting of the International Society of Electrochemistry in Montreal, Canada.
Under the topic of “Electrochemistry – Science and Technology for a Sustainable and Better Planet”, around 1.000 researchers from all over the world gathered in the French-Canadian city to dive deep into scientific discussions and exchange about the findings and challenges related to developing electrochemical devices needed for renewable energy storage.
From MeBattery, an exquisite team from Ruhr University Bochum, Burgos University and IMDEA Energy participated to present the latest results prepared in the project. With four oral presentations, MeBattery made quite a contribution to the conference in the following four different symposia.
Symposium 5b on “Electrochemistry of advanced batteries: Fundamentals, progress, and challenges” MeBattery contribution: On the Role of Solid Booster Confinement in the External Reservoir for High Performance Redox Mediated Flow Batteries by Gimena Marin Tajadura, Virginia Ruiz, Edgar Ventosa from Burgos University.
Symposium 2 on “Scanning probe microscopies: Towards quantitative Electrochemistry” Co-chaired by Wolfgang Schuhmann from Ruhr University Bochum who also gave a presentation on Nano-and microelectroanalytic methods for understanding electrocatalysts.
Symposium 10a on “Sustainability and green electrochemical science and technology” MeBattery contribution: Semi-Solid Electrodes as a Promising Type of Electrode for Sustainable Batteries by Koray Cavusoglu, Daniel Perez-Antolin, Mario Borlaf, David Muñoz-Torrero, Edgar Ventosa from Burgos University.
Symposium 11 on “Energy electrochemical technology/electrosynthesis and industrial processes” Chaired by Jesus Palma from IMDEA Energy MeBattery contribution: Membrane-Free Redox Flow Batteries. Challenges and Opportunities by Rebeca Marcilla from IMDEA Energy.
