MeBattery’s 2nd Advisory Board Meeting held
The MeBattery consortium held a very fruitful 2nd Advisory Board meeting with their industrial external advisors on 12 March 2025.
The meeting started with a brief overview of progress made in the project since the last meeting in September 2024 given by the project coordinator Dr. Edgar Ventosa from Burgos University. Main accomplishments as well as challenges remaining until the end of the project were presented. In general, the Advisory Board members were positively impressed about the achievements and showed remarkable interest about specific performance indicators of the MeBattery technology.
During the remainder of the meeting, the MeBattery partners sought advice from the industrial experts on strategies for eventual exploitation of the project’s outcomes. In an open discussion format, a number of topics were addressed including technology readiness levels, business models and plans, time to market, customer needs, target market segments, strategic partners, type of investors and competing energy storage technologies, among other things. The Advisory Board members provided invaluable information about the main drivers for the market to adopt a new battery technology, with cost-competitiveness being the primary one, followed by other important selling features such as lifetime, reliability, safety, environmental friendliness and a reliable and sustainable material supply chain.
We are very grateful to our advisors, among them B5Tec, Jena Flow Batteries and Unbound Potential, for their expert advice on the exploitation potential of our technology and suitable business strategies. We look forward to continuing this exciting collaboration!
