Successful completion of Innovation Training Course

On 15 July 2024, Murilo Alcantara from Universidade de Aveiro and Heiko Poth from EURICE – European Research and Project Office GmbH successfully completed the innovation training course “How to turn this into business” hosted by EISMEA, the European Agency implementing the European Innovation Council (EIC). The course was part of the activities of the European Innovation Council’s MLDES (Mid to long term and system integrated energy storage) portfolio providing training on how to maximise exploitation possibilities for the technologies developed in the projects.

Over a duration of six months, the training course comprised six workshops (3 hours each) with topics ranging from identifying what the market wants, mapping competitors, exploring business models and learning how to write an exploitation plan and pitch the project.

Heiko Poth says: “The strongest learning points were how strong the priority should really be on adapting your research to the future customers’ needs, which includes first of all to identify and get to know your customer, and what thoughts should go into developing a feasible, i.e. minimum viable product”.

Participants of the training course are encouraged to bring their learnings and knowledge into their projects, thus implementing lessons learned in the project’s exploitation strategies.

Murilo Alcantara sums it up: “It was a fantastic opportunity to deepen my knowledge and explore innovative solutions for sustainable energy storage. I am grateful for the insights and looking forward to applying these learnings to drive impactful changes in the energy sector.

Congratulations to Heiko and Murilo from the MeBattery team!
